Inha Dragon FC - 1st match

Finally, after weeks of planning and 'bakar2 line', our team managed to arrange our first match against Korea Univ (Kodae).

Before that we tried to arrange a match with the Dongyang boys, but the feedback were quite dissapointing. At the same time, we also keep in touch with the Kodae guys such as Timi, Tapa n Jepp. Back then it's just a matter of time. The Kodae guys were so eager to show off their skills n lanyak2 team inha ni. Me too also played a big part in this 'bakar2 line' issue, demm crazy and fb was there to witness. Even my teamates also asked me to slow down a little bit, but I can't help myself. I love provoking and bakar2 line ni..ahhahaa!

Nite before the game (Friday, 29th May)

Rightly after finished our meal together after the usrah, we all gathered around to discuss about the coming match at Ballock and Naim's house. That nite we discussed about the tactics, who is going to play, the player's position and who's is going to be the playmaker!!! Obviously, it was Rangga the guys chosed to be (he is also our team captain!) and the situation was really fun and full of big laughs. The boys really seems so fired up! They even take pictures of our new jersey and posted it in fb that evening (demm, it's supposed to be a surprise to Kodae).

But somehow out of all that fun we really respect our opponent and aware of each individual's ability. Some of the guys were nervous about the match, but to me lets us enjoy the match and show Kodae Tigers what Inha Dragons are made of. This match should not be tense, it should be approach in a good manner, a way that both team can play with full satisfaction and everybody enjoy it. Even our routine schedule playing pool and ps bang also had to put on hold that day because the guys wanted to focus on the match and have enough rest.

Match day (Saturday, 30th May)

Today is the day, our first football match. We promised to go together to Anyangchon at 2.00pm. But as usual promise is just a promise, malay style maaa. The guys were scattered everywhere and it's kind of hard to gather all these people together. But somehow we managed to leave Juan at 3.00pm and arrived at the venue around 3.45pm and met some of our temates whom were already at the scene.

The Kodae guys were also there, arrived at the same time. We all prepared and wore our new jersey. It's kind of cool i think and it made us look "tough" and mean. Same as the opponent team that are against the Stephen Chow's team in the final scene of the Shaolin Soccer movie. We started our warming up together and then take the pictures together along with the Kodae team. Poor Kodae, they only wore a simple red-colored t-shirt; no jersey. Come on Kodae, buy some jerseys, make it interesting!

Finally, the match started at around 4.30-4.45pm. The adrenaline was pumping and the guys are seems really upbeat. They take the match seriously, we pressed them hard and gave no chance to Kodae to hold up the ball long. I was very proud to see how the Dragons playing. We passed the ball well and kept or possesion. Our forwards had too many clear cut chances; against the bars, ball kicked directly to the keeper. But it was positive, at least it showed that we were the ones that controlling the match. In the end during the second half, we managed to a goal in. It was a good build up play from the wing. Munir controlled the ball well and crossed it to the far post to Robbil, who easily heads the ball into the net. We all were very excited with that beautiful goal. From there, we never look back and keep on attacking to score more goals.

That goal was the first of many. Two goals from Munir and Haaziq in the final halfs gave us the victory we wanted. Our defences were seldomly tested, but the guys were doing such a superb job in defending. Ballock for example, intercept and cuts out many of the Kodae attacks. Such a nice prospect and I feel good having him in the defence. The final score was 4-0 and it is our first win in our very first awaited match. Salute to Kodae for giving us a good and entertaining match, their guys were not lucky to be on the scoresheet. But I bet give them a few weeks to train, find the right players, then they will be much more stronger.

The higher praise should go to my team. You guys have been playing really well and keep up the good work! I'm proud and honored to play in the same team with you all.

p/s: can't wait for the next matches...we want more!
